Life & Times of a Gay Man
Well I think it's fair to say that for the majority of the UK this week has been an eye opener!
Finally the government may have had the wake up call it has needed with regards the youth of this country and maybe they will actually do something about it!
I am afraid to say it but maybe the riots and lootings are just the wake up call this Country needed to make an attempt to get something done about it all, the problem that we have now is what action can be taken because I believe it is now too late for us to bring back the old saying of "use the rod, beat the child" so the days of the copper giving you a clip round the ear hole for been a cheeky little git, so how best to combat this situation? We have come to realise the hard way that the softly softly approach doesn't work.
I think it's about time that the education system changed, in my experience bad behaviour seems to get worse when children are not stimulated properly so maybe if we made the education system more stimulating to our children it would be more beneficial, so maybe if when a child gets to high school they could mould the educational system to what suits the needs of the child, lets say for instance if you have a group of kinesthetic learners then make sure that they have a more hands on approach to learning and those who learn in a classroom environment should learn in that manner, I mean we already them up anyway into groups of those who excel, those who are average and then those who are slower learners but what I don't understand is that despite been split up into different groups they don't actually help the children by changing the way they are taught. Well they don't at my brothers schools anyway!
Also if schools had more variety with the after school clubs, I mean when I was at school all we had was football, rugby, netball, tennis and chess club so basically if you weren't interested in sport or sitting and moving bits of wood round a board for a few hours then you were a bit stuck for something to do! Maybe if they did things like "Glee" clubs or had things like Army cadets at each school then you would end up catering for each child in some way and then maybe bad behaviour wouldn't be such an issue because the minds of our young would be stimulated.
The time has come for change within our educational system! Stop with all the written exams and start actually teaching our children instead of just teaching them the answers to a test!
