Straight into the Scene
Well after a 2 month hiatus from writing my column, due to life being... Well, life, things have just got a little bit hectic and I haven't had the chance to write anything.
So, without further delay... I've decided that I'm gonna become the bitchy, whingey whiney one from now on.
Doing all this nice stuff is really boring me... I mean, don't get me wrong, it's nice to be nice, but sometimes being nice is just boring, and sometimes, I'd even go as far as to say that it's lying.
I'm well and truely tired of having to deal with idiots. And not your bog standard chavvy idiots. Worse. Drunken idiots. It's usually these horrible people that tell me that I have such an easy job working on the door of a gay bar. Ha! Having to explain twice a week to random people that it's not as easy as it seems is getting on my nerves.
So, think about this. While you're having the best night of the week in a bar and having a right good party with your best friend, who's stood outside taking all of the verbal, and sometimes physical, aggro from the people that could potentially ruin your amazing night? Yeah, the door staff. And yeah, a couple may slip through the net. We're good, but not God.
A couple of my "favorite" things that people say to me and Chris are: "There can't be any trouble down here." "We never see any trouble inside" This is because Chris and I try our hardest to make your night as safe and as enjoyable as possible. And if we get any trouble outside, chances are you won't see it.
So while you're enjoying yourselves, spare a thought for the poor buggers that are stood outside. Not just us down at The Bridge, but door staff everywhere.
Alex xx
