CHEL SEA
This is the story of how the phenomenon that is CHEL SEA was born and all in her very own words...
Back in October 2006 myself and a friend got talking and decided to go out in drag for Halloween for a bit of a laugh. What a night that was. It was this point I had my first taste of being a drag queen and I loved the attention and the fun I had. This was at the back of my mind for a while and in May 2007 I had an interview at the world famous Funny Girls as a bar Tranny. This was the day Chelsea was born.
I had such a good time at Funny Girls and was asked to be part of the finale to cover a girl who was on holiday and I loved it. It was at this point I was spotted by Miss Orry and we have been good friends since.
In March 2008 Miss Orry offered me the opportunity of a lifetime to move to Leeds and be part of the new show at the Birdcage as one of her featured girls. I jumped at the chance and it was within 2 weeks of the job offer I moved to Leeds and started my new life. In the small time I have worked in Leeds my drag career exploded. First off was whilst working at the New Penny I was given my own night 'Chelsea's Cheese on Toast' and at the same time I was approached by U-POP to be the face of their new night at Queens Court.
Whilst at U-POP I met Mark Sharratt the manager of Queens Court and he offered me a job as a supervisor for the bar. It was due to this I reluctantly gave up my night at the New Penny. As my job became more involved at Queens Court I left the Birdcage and took on the resident hostess duties at QC. I can be found at Queens Court every Thursday, Friday & Saturday. My main role is to welcome you all and ensure you have a good time (especially the boy’s lol)
I can honestly say that Leeds is one of the best Gay Scenes I have had the pleasure to live and work in. I love the friendly relaxed atmosphere that this city has to offer and the people who live here. Things are hotting up at the moment with Pride and some other things I can't go into at this moment in time. Look out for me on the main stage this year at Pride with a couple of my friends from Queens Court oh and of course the parade.
