Hello my darling cubs

Well I’m back from my little typing sabbatical and to be honest I have been rehearsing hard with my other Phat sista’s for the Bears Aloud’s second birthday bash this Sunday down at Blayds bar. Technically I should be an ‘otter’ than a ‘bear’ with all the dancing and running around, however I do enjoy my pies and cakes an awful lot so no chance of slimming! now before I ramble on too much about food lets talk about ‘Mothers Day’

Yes Sunday 3^rd April –Mothers day, that most wonderful of days is soon upon us, the day we focus our love, warmth and show all the Mothers, Mum’s, Mamma’s, Ma’s, Matters, Step ones, the Grand one’s and all those that have kept us safe in our lives just how much we really care.

People may say its all commercial and just another day to rip everyone off, however why shouldn’t the most important women/mother like figures in our lives have a special day to celebrate all that there is about them.

You don’t have to spend loads of money on showing that special someone you care, maybe just giving a warm hug shows you recognize they are really cared for.  Now gifts are nice and don’t let anyone fool you into thinking they don’t like gifts we all like receiving something, I used to love making my own presents and giving them to give my mom, I remember vividly going to pick flowers from a field once to give as a gift.

We all have our own ways in showing we care and we don’t really need just one day to express this, even though Mothers day is a good excuse to pamper though. Sadly I won’t get to see my Matter on Mothers day, because of work (busy weekend being a florist) and seeing ‘Kylie’ however I will get to see her the week after, making the motherly celebration last longer and I will certainly spoil mom rotten, because if it wasn’t for my mother I really wouldn’t be the person I’ am.

Also lets not forget all the Mothers who are no longer with us, you may not be able to hug, then wrap yourself around them, however remembering their bright light and keeping their memory alive on such a day so special as this, is good a day as any. A friend of mine recently lost his mother just the other week actually and I know it will be hard for him, however I know he wont let his mother be forgotten so quickly and he will celebrate her live on Mothers day, he wont let it be a sad day but a happy remembering day.
