In the Mix with Mark Park
Hi and welcome to my very first column I’m so excited , I plan on keeping you all up to date on the best new music what’s out there , any hot club news , reports for where I’ve been playing and other stuff I’ve been up to or any topic that grinds my gears !
I’m currently working in the office getting ready for Homo’s always legendary Foam party, I don’t know what it is about these parties but, everyone just goes mad for them and for some it’s a chance to wear as little as possible, it’s such fun and the last two were immense so much so people are buzzing for this one even more!
As well as that it’s the Viaduct Showbar’s hugely popular barman Chris Armstrong’s leaving party and I know a large part of the gay community will be out in force tonight to give one of the scene’s most popular barman a great send off as he’s moving back to Manchester. Not only is he easy on the eye but he’s such a nice friendly guy and such a great credit to the Viaduct Showbar and the Leeds community as a whole, he’s going to be sorely missed.
This year in fact there are a few great characters that will be leaving Leeds to go onto university, some are even going to another countries which is going to be very sad times at having to say goodbye, but at the same time will leave me with a sense of pride as in the fact that they will be flying the flag for the Leeds community as I know these people, I can say they represent what’s good about the scene as they are friendly, warm and welcoming.
So with this in mind, the foam will be flowing, the clothing will be minimal and the tears of joy and sadness will be with many and I’m sure it will be a night to talk about for a long, long time.
