gay hotels in Leeds images of Leeds
OK, so maybe the heading of this page gives the wrong impression. For a city the size of Leeds there are no (or none that we know about) gay hotels. That's probably because Leeds is such a cosmopolitan city, that there really is no need to segregate where you sleep by who you sleep with. So below are a few hotels that we would recommend if you wanted to stay in or close to Leeds city centre.

Residence 6 - 3 Infirmary Street, City Square, Leeds LS1 2HT
Consistently voted the number 1 hotel in Leeds in just about every survey you read. They offer sophisticated, urban living in the heart of Leeds city centre at the Old Post Office. Think luxury, five star, world-class hotel with none of the space limitations frequently associated with hotel living. All 23 private apartments are stylish yet comfortable and boast a living space nearly three times the size of an average Executive Hotel Suite. You'll pay for the privilege though, but we think it's worth it! 1 minutes walk from the main train station and 5 minutes from the Gay Quarter.

Malmaison - 1 Swinegate, Leeds LS1 4AG
Part of the ever popular chain of hotels and situated less than a throw of your handbag from the Gay Quarter. In fact, The Bridge is on the opposite corner from this hotel. The rooms are pretty luxurious, but can be a bit pricy, but we've seen many special offers on their website so maybe you should check this out. Has a nice brasserie underneath, although they once tried to "hide" bits of bacon in a vegetarian meal a friend of mine had a few Christmases ago.

Bewleys - City Walk, Sweet Street, Leeds LS11 9AT
Located about a 5 minute walk out of the city centre, this new hotel offers nice rooms at a reasonable price. The fact that's it's also the closest hotel to Victoria Works, the new home for megaclub Federation will do it wonders later in the year. Oh and they offer free internet access and parking spaces for only £5 a night too!

Marriott - 4 Trevelyan Square, Boar Lane, Leeds LS1 6ET
Another city centre hotel situated just 400 metres from the main train station. In fact, it's right opposite Mission where Homo is on every Thursday and just a couple of seconds away from the rest of the Gay Quarter. The hotel has been around a while, but we hear they've been renovating the rooms. The kind of hotel my mum would like, if you know what I mean.

Queens Hotel - City Square, Leeds LS1 1PJ
Well, with a name like the Queens, we couldn't miss this one out, could we! Situated right next to the train station (in fact, I think the 2 buildings merge into one). It was obviously a very grand, opulent building in it's day and it has just gone through a £10 million restoration project, but the windows still look a bit shabby from the outside. Beautiful Art Deco styling though and the reviews on tripadvisor.com are glowing. This is where I'd imagine an American tourist would stay and love it.

Travelodge - Blayds Court, Blayds Yard, Leeds LS1 4AD
Situated right next to club Mission (right behind it in fact) and half of the hotel overlooks the railways lines. 1 minute from the Gay Quarter. Looks like every other Travelodge does. If you want a quiet night's sleep make sure you ask for a room on the "quiet side" away from the clubs and trains. Budget prices and perfect if you have come to sample the nightlife in Leeds and just need somewhere to crash.
