Now, when I was asked to go and experience a spa treatment in Leeds, I had a soothing massage in mind. Something that would rid me of the  various aches and pains that have been bothering me lately.

Maybe I should have took in the word aqua when being told that the place was Aqua Preena but no, I just made my innocent little way along having no idea what was in store.

When I got there and realised that my treatment was to be immersing my feet into a tank whilst fish sucked on them then admittedly, I practically had to be restrained from leaving. But, I bravely (sort off) persevered and took the plunge.

The initial sensation (for me anyway) was very odd, in fact after reviewing the video footage afterwards, I would say that I needed a good slap to calm done my hysteria and ticklishness. (People did offer!)

But those sensations did subside after a while and (because I did not look) I actually forgot that fish were having a feast on my unkempt feet and the whole experience along with a nice glass of red became incredibly relaxing.

Lately, I have been incredibly over-tired and lacking in energy and motivation which has been quite scary as I generally tend to do everything at 100 miles an hour. I am constantly tired and crave sleep which, when it comes, has been unsettled.

But, after my 15 minutes in the tank, I felt incredibly relaxed and happy and also, a severe ankle injury that I sustained, felt noticeably less painful afterwards.

The Garra Rufa fish which are used are known to use their extraordinary properties to exfoliate skin, massage acupuncture points and stimulate circulation which in turn, rejuvenates and detoxifies your body.

I must admit that I was a sceptic but after going home and sleeping for 12 amazing hours and then waking up raring to go, I am in no doubt about the effectiveness of this amazing treatment.

A lot of people have said that they are afraid to do this and if you look at this video, you will see my own terror at first but, I do tend to over-react occasionally! But seriously, I cannot recommend this enough, please go along and have a treatment, you will not regret it.

Personally, I cannot wait to go again.
