LGBT Resource Centre

Do you want an LGBT resource centre in Leeds where men and women are catered for and can receive health, education and all sorts of other advice?

Well, if you want to know more, there is a consultation event in Leeds on the 27th of February. It will be held at the Civic Hall between 4.00 and 7.00 on a drop in basis. The aim is to find out how people would use and benefit from an LGBT Centre in Leeds. Organisers of the event are reps from some support agencies in Leeds, individuals and LGBT Hub and LGBT Mental Health Partnership.

Paola Vietri, one of the organisers of this, contacted Gayleeds.com and said:

‘Basically, after a long time with groups of people talking about the fact that there isn’t a non-scene space in Leeds for people from the LGBT communities, we thought it would be good to find out what people think; what would people want from a centre if there was one; why would it be important. We hope that there are going to be enough people expressing an interest in being involved in trying to make it into a reality – funding, venue etc etc. It’s all still an idea, but an idea that we hope is going to take a bit of a shape.’
